Blog Post Of Bad Bunny

One of the best things that I enjoy doing is listening to music. When I’m stressed and sad, somehow I find music brings me peace and happiness and makes me feel like a better person. One of the music genres I enjoy listening to is Latin Urban Music, and sometimes I enjoy listening to Latin Trap. The one person that I would listen to non-stop in these genres of music is Bad Bunny.

Bad Bunny, or Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, was born on March 10, 1994, in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. Since he was little, he enjoyed listening to music. He grew up listening to other Latin artists like Daddy Yankee, Calle 13, and many others. When he was younger, he worked in a mini-market where he wrote songs and started to produce them. He uploaded them to SoundCloud, which was popular back then. I still think that small artists upload their music there, hoping to be discovered.

Luckily for Bad Bunny, he was discovered by DJ Luian, who was CEO and heard his music. DJ Luian loved his song Diles and asked him if he would join his record label, Hear This Music, and Mambo Kingz. Due to this, they decided to do a remix with Ozuna, Farruko, Arcángel, and Ñengo Flow, and it blew up. That is mainly where people got to know Bad Bunny—especially my uncle.

I grew up with my uncle, who at that time was in college and basically in his 20s. He listened to a lot of trap songs, and back then, Bad Bunny was part of the trap genre. I remember that he enjoyed playing his songs over and over again, and I got curious. I Googled him and listened to most of his songs, but I was scared due to the fact that his music was explicit, and I could have gotten in trouble with my parents. I was around 10 at this time, but he was not my favorite artist during that time.

Like any other teenager, I had an identity crisis regarding what music I liked and even my style. So when the pandemic hit, I didn’t know what to do and started listening to other types of music to help me feel better about being home all day and not being able to see my friends. Also, the music that I listened to during that time didn’t feel like it fit me, and I felt weird about it.

So when I listened to his album YHLQMDLG, I felt like his music was my style, so I named him my favorite artist. Later on, he came out with another album, El Último Tour del Mundo, and that was it. I felt like his lyrics were heartfelt. I felt like the songs were made by me or for me. The experiences that he had, I lived through them. During that moment, my life was not the best, and his music helped.

I found myself stuck on his music for hours and hours, and eventually, it did help me get out of that situation. His music made me feel better and like a better person. And that is my story of love for my favorite artist, Bad Bunny.
